1.2.0
Every tool checked by hand
Latest
Two new tools for upload forms, 33 tools out of preview, and the fixes that came from trying each one on real files.
Added
- Compress Image to KB: Shrink a photo to 20, 50, 100 or 200 kB for an exam, job or visa form. If a lower quality is not enough, it makes the picture smaller too.
- Compress PDF: Shrink a PDF to 100 kB, 200 kB, 500 kB or any size. A file that already fits comes back unchanged.
Changed
- 33 tools were tried on real files, one by one, and lost their preview badge. Search engines can now list them.
- Remove Background: The faint marks a cutout used to leave on a shaded background are cleared, and the subject is left as it was.
- Grey text on light backgrounds is a little darker, so it is easier to read.
Fixed
- PDF to Text: Every PDF opens again. From 21 September, none would.
- Converters: "1,5" means one and a half, not fifteen. Heights no longer read "5 ft 12.0 in", and weights no longer read "9 st 14.0 lb".
- Password Generator: Typing 16 in the length box gives 16, not 46. Long PINs show how strong they really are.
- Percentage Calculator: The worked example now says "take 20 off 100". A sum that would divide by zero says so.
- Lorem Ipsum Generator: Switching between words and paragraphs keeps the count you can see.
- Slug Generator: Long titles that repeat each get their own slug.
- UUID Generator: A batch of v7 IDs comes out in order.
- Case Converter: Title Case keeps "don't" in one piece.
- URL Decode: The part after a # is no longer read as part of the last value.
- Image to Base64: Quotes inside a CSS url() are escaped, so the snippet pastes cleanly.
- PDF Editor: Edits land where you put them, and a redaction blacks out the words in the saved file.
- JWT Decoder: The page no longer reports an error every time it opens.
- GIF to PNG, WebP to JPG, WebP to PNG: The pages now say the file usually gets bigger, because it does.
