About these web tools

These are the small checks and generators that sit alongside building a site: a QR code for a poster, a password for a new account, an ID for a record. None of them need a server, and several are better without one.

A QR code made here holds your address directly. Most free generators point the code at their own short link so they can count the scans, which means your printed poster stops working the day that service does. Ours cannot expire, because there is nothing in the middle.

The same goes for a password. It is made by your browser with the same random source a bank would use, and it is never transmitted, so there is no service to breach it out of.

Frequently asked questions

Do QR codes made here expire?
No. The code holds your address itself rather than pointing at a link on our domain, so there is nothing to expire, rate-limit or take down.
Are generated passwords stored?
No. The password is made in your browser and never leaves it. Close the tab and the only copy is the one you saved.
Do you track QR scans?
We cannot. A scan goes straight to your address and never touches us, which is the trade: no dashboard, and nothing in the middle to fail.
How random is the password?
It uses the browser's cryptographic random source, the same one used for keys. It is not the shuffled-clock trick a scripting language gives you by default.
Is there a generation limit?
No. There is no account and no count, so make as many as you like.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. Nothing here asks the network for anything.
