About these calculators

Every calculator here prints the arithmetic behind the answer, because you cannot check a bare number. When you see that a BMI of 23.5 came from 74.5 ÷ 1.78², you can spot a mistyped digit and redo the sum anywhere.

Some formulas have more than one version in common use. Body fat has several, and so does resting metabolism. Where that happens, you choose the version, and the page says which one is the default and why.

Health calculators state their margins, because a screening ratio given to one decimal place suggests a precision it does not have. None of this is medical or financial advice, and the page never sends the figures you type anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Do you store the figures I type?
No. Every calculation runs in the page, which sends nothing. A reload clears the values, and there is no account to keep a history in.
Why show the formula?
So you can check it. A number on its own asks for trust, and a number with its working lets you spot a typo and repeat the sum elsewhere.
Are the health calculators medical advice?
No. They do screening arithmetic. The result gives you a rough idea, and it cannot replace a doctor who can examine you.
Which formula is the default?
The one most used for that calculation. The page names it, and where the choice matters you can change it.
Can I switch to imperial?
In the BMI calculator, yes. It takes feet, inches and pounds. The body fat and calorie calculators take metric units.
Is there a usage limit?
No. There is no account, and nothing counts how many sums you run.
